# Classroom Manager - Rules and Overrides

## **School Policies vs Classroom Manager Rules**

Your school can hard-block content by making Locked Policies in Linewize Filter. You can’t override any Locked Policies with Classroom Manager Rules or any other features. Classroom Manager will warn you if you try to make a rule that conflicts with a Locked Policy. Note: If you think the content you want to block or allow is Locked, contact your school’s IT support team.

## **Types of content you can filter**

You can use Classroom Manager Rules to block web-based content and applications, groups of websites and even some native applications on Windows devices. You can filter using [Themes, Categories and Signatures](https://help.classwize.net/hc/en-gb/articles/14948268971164) to help you customise your rules.

## **Rules panel overview**

The Rules panel shows you all the filtering rules you’ve set for your class so far, and who they apply to.

1. The name of the category, site, or application the rule controls.
2. Who the rule applies to. Rules can apply either to the whole class (all users) or to a single student.
3. Whether the rule blocks or allows access for the student. Select between Blocked and Allowed.
4. Edit or delete the rule.
